Being born a skinny, scrawny shrimp of a guy is no fun indeed. You never know whether you are going to survive the rugby field of oversized players that you’d been forced to take on or the battlefield of teenage dating. For Huat Bee (nicknamed Hay Bee), life was miserable until he met his best friend Hin Kong (nicknamed King Kong), who was everything the latter was not. Will this unlikely friendship endure the trials and tribulations of teenage years into adulthood, or will the years force the drift of their different personalities into completely different worlds – in spite of their deep friendship. Follow their endearing journeys into a surprising and heartbreaking but insightful  ending.

This is a hilarious and insightful play for anyone who has ever felt like an underdog in life, and it is a play about the uplifting nature of true friendships.

SHRIMPS IN SPACE is a one man performance written by award wining Singapore playwright Desmond Sim and performed by upcoming rising talent Hang Qian Chou (Nine Year Theatre's Tartuffe, Wild Rice's Jack & The Bean Sprout!).
